What is Corten steel?
Corten is a weathering steel. Its chemical composition allows a thin protective layer to form as it is exposed to changing weather conditions. This naturally occurring patina has a distinctive rust-brown colour.
What are the benefits of Corten steel?
The patina protects the steel against further weathering. This gives Corten products their distinctive appearance with relatively little maintenance.
Over time, wind and rain deepen the material's character. The changing colour enhances the appearance of the finished product.
